Seize the Stage: A Community United by Theatre
At its core, community theatre is about just that: community.
When you take part in a Showstoppers production—whether as a performer, a volunteer, or an audience member—you’re joining something much bigger than a single show. You’re building relationships, sharing stories, and helping create something that belongs to all of us.
Showstoppers offers people of all generations and backgrounds an environment of teamwork and confidence building, while encouraging creativity to flourish. For our young cast members, it’s often a first taste of the magic of the stage. For adults, participation can be a chance to revisit a long-lost passion—or discover a new one. And for everyone involved, it’s a reminder that when we come together with a shared goal, something truly special and magical happens.
We’re excited for this summer’s production of Newsies, a show filled with heart, energy, and unforgettable music. Directed by Jeff Iverson, this show promises to be a highlight of Waterama weekend—and a celebration of everything we love about live theatre and our community.
Tickets go on sale this week, and we hope you’ll be among the first to grab yours. Bring your family, invite your neighbors, and come support the incredible cast and crew who have been working so hard behind the scenes.
