That’s a wrap on the Winter Show!

The cast takes their final bow — bravo to our shining stars for a performance that stole the show!

That’s a wrap on the Winter Show! We had a great community turn out for this winter’s dinner theater at the Lakeside Ballroom: Invisible Eddie. Jacob Matt did a FANTASTIC job as the leading man in his first big role on stage as an adult. Sarah Grew was sublime as his ever-fretting aunt. Nick Helgaas became believably Irish as Eddie’s soon-to-be uncle. Sophie and Ann Grandy saved the day taking over roles for a couple of great actresses who both had run-ins with the ice and had to heal from broken bones instead of joining us on stage. Mark Halvorson shone as a drunken German hypnotist, and Eric Randleman, Curt Bredeson, and Scott Banta, were superb in their respective roles of the building superintendent, Eddie’s uptight boss, and the gullible bartender at the Cock ‘N’ Poppy pub. It’s a whirlwind of an event, with the first script read through right after Christmas and full rehearsals starting right after New Year’s.

A snapshot from Invisible Eddie, where chaos, comedy, and unforgettable characters filled the Lakeside Ballroom stage.

Thanks to everyone who made the show possible from the cast and crew, and all the people behind the scenes; and of course a big thank-you to Jill and her staff at Lakeside, like those who made and served the delicious food and especially the bar manager and bartenders who stayed late so we could finish our rehearsals.

Now we’re on to the planning stages of this year’s summer show: Anything Goes (by Cole Porter, Guy Bolton, P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay, and Russel Crouse) (presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC). The music from this show is classic Broadway including the standards “It’s De-lovely” and “Friendship”.
